How we write these guides

We write each guide from the regulation texts themselves: the executive regulations under the Environmental Law and NCEC's own guides. Where a text exists only in Arabic, we translate the wording we rely on. Royal Commission guides, written from RCER-2025, are in the Royal Commission library.

Every point carries a numbered reference to the article, table or section it comes from. Hover over or tap a number to see it. Short forms such as "Permits reg." are explained at the end of each guide and on the regulations page.
