Life cycle assessment, EPD and HPD
We measure the environmental footprint of products from raw materials to end of life, and turn it into declarations your customers and green building projects can use.
Request a proposalOverview
A life cycle assessment (LCA) measures a product’s environmental impacts across its life: raw materials, manufacturing, transport, use and end of life. It follows the international standards ISO 14040 and ISO 14044.
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) publishes those results in a verified, standard format, following ISO 14025 and, for construction products, EN 15804. A Health Product Declaration (HPD) discloses a product’s contents and their health hazards. Both are used by green building rating systems such as LEED.
When you need it
- Your customers or their projects ask for EPDs or HPDs.
- You supply products to projects seeking LEED certification.
- You want to find where a product’s footprint comes from, so you can reduce it.
What we deliver
- Life cycle assessmentCradle-to-gate or cradle-to-grave, to ISO 14040 and 14044.
- EPDPrepared for third-party verification and publication by a programme operator.
- HPDContent inventory and hazard screening.
- Data collection supportTemplates and site visits to gather plant data.
- Reduction optionsWhere changes would cut the footprint most.
How we work
Define the scope
Product, functional unit and system boundary.
Collect data
From your plant and suppliers.
Model and calculate
Impacts across the life cycle.
Verify and publish
Through an independent verifier and programme operator.
